About Gys <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

When Gijs launched the idea in 2014 to open a restaurant that would serve only organic dishes with a focus on vegetarian and vegan food, many people wondered if it would actually work. Fast forward to today, and we are incredibly happy that Gys has grown into two vibrant locations\u2014on the Voorstraat and the Amsterdamsestraatweg in Utrecht\u2014where people come together not only to enjoy delicious plant-based and organic food, but also to experience that sustainable and tasty food truly go hand in hand! <\/p>

For us, sustainability goes beyond what is on the plate. The entire restaurant is permeated by this philosophy. From the furniture made from recycled materials to the eco-friendly paint on the walls, every detail contributes to our goal of leaving the smallest possible ecological footprint. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Over the years, we have had many menu changes. Through experimenting, tasting, trying, and listening carefully to you, our guests, we have split the concepts of our locations. Both locations have a different character, and at Gys Bistro on Voorstraat, we have embraced this by returning to our roots \u2013 comfort food and space for drinks on the terrace, a warm meal after a busy day, and a cozy lunch. At Gys on Amsterdamsestraatweg, you are welcome for leisurely dining, drinks, and shared dining. In the lively and historic city center of Utrecht, you will find Gys Bistro \u2013 where everything revolves around a delicious lunch, coffee with a good pastry, drinks on the terrace, or a relaxed bite to eat after a day in the city. Our other Gys location is situated just outside the city center. Come and experience the cozy atmosphere and enjoy our large terrace garden. This is the place to come for an extensive dinner, drinks with fine wines, and to enjoy our shared dining menu. Everything you eat and drink at Gys is homemade. The products we use are certified organic and preferably produced locally. Some items are a bit more difficult to make yourself, such as fries, wine, soft drinks, or beer.
