About Eigen planeet eerst
Eigen planeet eerst is not a climate essay. Those who don’t believe that climate change caused by global warming will have serious consequences within the next thirty years don’t need to concern themselves with how we might turn the tide. This essay focuses on a different question: is our system—the democratic rule of law—even equipped to solve this problem? Van Iperen explores political developments since the fall of the Berlin Wall, ultimately suggesting that it may be democracy itself that is steering us toward the edge of the abyss.
Whether you’ve already devoured the book or are coming in with a blank slate, it promises to be an evening full of recognition, inspiration, and meaningful conversations around the table.
