Pioneers wanted
Gys was one of the first hospitality spots in the Netherlands to successfully combine organic, plant-based, and accessible food. Over ten years later, we’ve grown to two Gys locations, launched Kiem Catering as our sustainable sister, and we’re still expanding. Together, we continue to build on our mission — as an employer and as a changemaker.

Hospitality Manager (30+ hours)
Are you a natural leader with a passion for hospitality? At Gys, we’re looking for a manager to join our team and ensure the smooth running of daily operations. As a manager, you’ll be the point of contact during shifts, coach your colleagues, and foster a positive atmosphere for both guests and the team.
Your responsibilities:
Manager for the front of house
Managing day-to-day business operations
Creating schedules and arranging personnel matters
Assisting in the service during peak times
Maintaining and improving hospitality
Inventory management and orders
Training and motivating new colleagues
- Thinking along with events and parties
We are looking for:
Are enthusiastic, open-minded and proactive
Have at least 2 years of experience in a similar hospitality management role
Natural manager and enjoys working together
Thinks in solutions and keeps a cool head when busy
Have a warm heart for colleagues, guests (and yes, even neighborhood cats)
Love (plant-based, organic and gluten-free) food and drinks
Have an affinity with sustainable entrepreneurship
Are available for at least 30 hours per week, including evenings and one weekend day
English spoken – Dutch is a big plus

Hospitality manager (30+ hours)

Representing and sharing Gys’ values with enthusiasm and authenticity.

We are looking for:

Strong communication skills, a hands-on mindset, and the ability to motivate others.
You remain calm and organized, even when it gets busy.

Front of House Team Members (Part-Time)

Headchef (30+ hours)
Are you a passionate foodie with kitchen experience and knowledge of plant-based and gluten-free cooking techniques? Or have you worked as a sous-chef and are ready to take the next step? At Gys, you’ll have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in organic, plant-based, and gluten-free cuisine. We are looking for a head chef who is available for at least 36 hours per week.
Your responsibilities
As head chef, you are the culinary mastermind of our kitchen. You lead the kitchen team and are responsible for developing and perfecting our plant-based and gluten-free dishes. You ensure quality and efficiency in the kitchen, making sure everything runs smoothly.
- Leading the kitchen team and creating a positive and inspiring work environment.
- Developing creative menus and seasonal dishes that align with our vision
- Overseeing daily kitchen operations, from mise-en-place to presentation
- Ensuring an efficient workflow and optimizing kitchen processes.
- Training and motivating kitchen staff to support continuous team development.
- Managing kitchen inventory and ensuring minimal waste.
- Ensuring hygiene and safety standards in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
Who are you?
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, or you are a sous chef ready for the next step.
- Passion for plant-based and gluten-free cooking or the drive to experiment with it.
- Leadership and team motivation, with the ability to effectively manage a kitchen brigade.
- Creativity and attention to detail, both in flavor and presentation.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform well under pressure.

At Gys, you’ll have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in the organic, plant-based, and gluten-free kitchen. We are looking for a sous-chef who is available for at least 32 hours per week.
Your responsibilities
- You will work closely with the kitchen team to prepare delicious and creative plant-based and gluten-free dishes.
- You ensure that daily kitchen operations run smoothly, from mise-en-place to presentation.
- You assist the head chef with menu development and the introduction of new, seasonal dishes.
- You train and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring a positive and efficient working atmosphere.
- You oversee inventory management and ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
Who are you?
- You have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role, or you are an ambitious chef who is ready for the next step.
- Knowledge of plant-based and gluten-free cooking techniques and ingredients is a significant advantage.
- You can handle the pressure of a dynamic kitchen well and always maintain an overview.

Chef de partie (Part-Time)
Gys is looking for friendly full-time colleagues for the kitchen! Do you already have kitchen experience, or are you eager to learn a lot more?
Your responsibilities
- Kitchen experience is a plus, but we also welcome passionate individuals who are eager to learn and grow.
- We would be thrilled if you have knowledge and understanding of plant-based and gluten-free cooking techniques and ingredients, but this is not required.
