From today on we now have a Meal Deal at the ASW for 14.95 😍 The deal is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Our chef Chris will make a new meal each week and it is delicious! This weeks dish will be a red lentil dahl, with coconut lime rice and a pineapple coriander chutney (Yummy) 🍴😋

🌍💚 World Environment Day – Elk jaar op 5 juni komen mensen wereldwijd in actie voor een gezondere planeet. Deze dag, geïnitieerd door de Verenigde Naties, benadrukt hoe belangrijk het is om bewust om te gaan met onze aarde – en dat begint vaak op je bord.
Bij Gys nemen we voedselverspilling serieus. We benutten ingrediënten van kop tot staart: van groenteschillen maken we bouillon voor gerechten zoals onze Sicilian BBQ plate 🍲, en de groene toppen van wortels worden een frisse garnering voor onze Ajo Blanco. Zelfs broodresten krijgen een tweede leven als krokante croutons of smaakvolle pangrattato.
Daarnaast verwerken we citrusschillen en kruidenresten tot huisgemaakte smaakmakers zoals no waste furikake en trash tajín. Alles met één doel: zo min mogelijk verspillen, zonder in te leveren op smaak.
Samen met Oscar Circulair scheiden we ons afval tot in detail – van koffiedik tot piepschuim – en zetten we grote stappen richting een zero waste organisatie. ♻️

🌍💚 World Environment Day – Every year on June 5th, people around the world take action for a healthier planet. Initiated by the United Nations, this day reminds us how important it is to care for the Earth — and that often starts with what’s on our plate.
At Gys, we take food waste seriously. We use ingredients from root to leaf: veggie scraps become broth for dishes like our Sicilian BBQ plate 🍲, and carrot tops are repurposed as fresh garnish for our Ajo Blanco. Even bread ends are transformed into crispy croutons or flavorful pangrattato.
We also turn citrus peels and leftover herbs into homemade seasonings like no waste furikake and trash tajín — all with one goal: waste less without sacrificing taste.
Together with Oscar Circulair, we separate waste down to the smallest detail – from coffee grounds to styrofoam – making big strides toward becoming a zero waste organization. ♻️
There’s always room to do better, and we keep looking for smart ways to waste even less. Do you have a great idea or see something we could improve? Let us know – we’re totally open to it! 🌿♻

Begin je zondag op 8 juni met een zon-geïnspireerde vinyasa yogasessie onder begeleiding van Méabh (je spreekt het uit als “Maeve”), gevolgd door een heerlijk brunchbuffet – en dat voor maar €29,95! 🥐🍓

Méabh ontdekte yoga na een voet- en knieblessure. Wat begon als fysieke revalidatie, groeide uit tot een bron van rust en helderheid – iets wat ze des te meer is gaan waarderen in het hectische ritme van de Nederlandse agenda’s. Ze geeft les bij twee fijne studio’s in Utrecht en helpt anderen graag vertragen, ademen en ruimte creëren – in lichaam én hoofd.

Méabh found yoga after a foot and knee injury, and what began as physical recovery became a powerful tool for finding calm and clarity — especially in the hustle of Dutch agenda life. She now teaches at two lovely studios in Utrecht and is passionate about helping others slow down and reconnect with their breath.
