Below you will find our current job openings for our two restaurants in Utrecht. We are currently looking for new colleagues for the following roles:
- Restaurant manager

Restaurant manager (full-time)
As a manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of restaurant operations, including staff management, hospitality, and daily business operations. At Gys, you will also work on the floor, making this a varied and dynamic role!
You’re a perfect match if you:
- Enthusiastic, open-minded, proactive, and friendly, and you approach everyone (yes, even the neighborhood cats) with a warm heart.
- Thinks in solutions.
- Are not afraid of hard work when it’s needed
- Prefer working together over going solo, and leadership comes naturally to you.
- Are passionate about (plant-based, organic, and gluten-free) food and drinks.
- Interested in sustainable business practices and food, whether that’s a little or a lot.
- Have a few years of experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Live in Utrecht or surroundings.
- Speak English – Dutch is a pré.
Nice to have, but not required:
- A completed hospitality degree.
- Knowledge of wine, beer, or other (non-)alcoholic beverages.
- Experience as an (assistant) manager.
- A Dutch BHV-certificate
- Knowledge of social hygiene standards.

Sous-chef (full-time)
Responsibilities sous-chef:
- You will lead the kitchen team.
- You are also responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of kitchen activities, which means being involved in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high-quality standards.
- You contribute to the development of the menu and the introduction of new dishes, with a focus on organic and seasonal ingredients.
- Of course, you enjoy sharing your knowledge with your (new) kitchen colleagues, as well as onboarding and training new team members.
- You are also co-responsible for managing inventory, accurately recording ingredients, and timely ordering supplies to ensure the efficient operation of the kitchen.

- Kitchen experience is a plus, but we also welcome passionate individuals who are eager to learn and grow.
- We would be thrilled if you have knowledge and understanding of plant-based and gluten-free cooking techniques and ingredients, but this is not required.
- Gys is a super cozy and also busy restaurant. That’s why we’re looking for new colleagues who can work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Floor staff (full-time)
Currently, our team is complete, and we are only looking for experienced colleagues in the service staff who are available to work between 32-38 hours!
