At Gys
Ten years ago, we opened the doors of Restaurant Gys with a simple mission: to serve delicious and healthy food that is accessible to everyone. At Gys, we believe that a sustainable world begins with how we treat each other and with how we treat the planet.
Our menu is fundamentally 100% plant-based and 100% gluten-free. We do still serve cow’s milk with coffee and offer an optional egg with the shakshuka, but we continuously challenge ourselves to create a menu without animal products — dishes that will truly make your taste buds happy.
To make our restaurant truly accessible to everyone, we also prepare everything gluten-free. This way, everyone can enjoy a worry-free meal.

In the lively and historic city center of Utrecht, you will find Gys Bistro – where everything revolves around a delicious lunch, coffee with a good pastry, drinks on the terrace, or a relaxed bite to eat after a day in the city. Simple, accessible, and familiar — but of course, still 100% plant-based and gluten-free.
Amsterdamsestraatweg
Our other Gys location is situated just outside the city center. Come and experience the cozy atmosphere and enjoy our large terrace garden. This is the place to come for an extensive dinner, drinks with fine wines, and to enjoy our shared dining menu. This location is also suitable for groups, high tea, or for hiring out for parties and dinners.
