Like to eat at Gys with an allergy?

The above document contains information about allergens in the dishes at Gys. There are a few allergens that are not listed in this document because these ingredients are not used by Gys.

This concerns the following allergens:

  • crustaceans
  • fish
  • lupine
  • shellfish
  • gluten (read more below!)

Because allergens are processed in our kitchen, unfortunately, we are not allergen-free. We would like to hear in advance if there are any allergies or dietary preferences that we should take into account.

Always let us know if you have any allergies!

Even if you read in our allergen list that a dish does not contain the allergens you are allergic to, please still let us know! We ask this so that we can better ensure the safety of your dish and minimize the risk of cross-contamination. Therefore, we kindly ask you not to make assumptions about ingredients and dishes, but to let us know at any time what allergy you have. We only ask this for the safety of your health.

Gluten-free food at Gys

Good news! At Gys, we have completely removed gluten from our menu, and our kitchen is now gluten-free! We get our gluten-free bread from a bakery that has successfully passed an audit by the Dutch Celiac Association (NCV). In addition, Gys has been inspected and audited by the NCV, earning us the ‘Lekker Glutenvrij’ (Tasty Gluten-Free) certificate. This certificate ensures that we meet all safety standards and protocols of the NCV, making our restaurant a safe dining choice for people with celiac disease. Restaurants with the ‘Lekker Glutenvrij’ certificate are regularly inspected by the NCV and undergo annual evaluations by an independent audit bureau.

Other allergy or dietary preference?

If you have special dietary preferences or allergies that are not listed on our allergen list, you can probably still enjoy dining at Gys! We are familiar with most dietary preferences and allergies. So, for example, we can also prepare food for guests who are garlic- and onion-free   or follow the FODMAP diet. If you have a special allergy or dietary requirement, please send us an email in advance with your preferences. This gives us preparation time, and we can check with our chefs to see if it’s possible to prepare something for you. Often, our chefs   can adjust dishes so that you can still enjoy delicious (and safe) meals.

For a safe and flavorful dining experience, we ask you to please email us your dietary preferences or allergies in advance. This way, we can make the necessary preparations.

Note: Completely salt-free dishes are unfortunately not possible because we use salt during mise en place. Additionally, we use sunflower oil in our kitchen. If you have a sunflower oil allergy, we can probably make a separate dish for you, but please let us know in advance!
